Doctor reacts as West Ham schedule meeting for new £17m transfer

Vitoria Guimaraes attacker Jota Silva would need to up the ante in training should he move to West Ham this summer, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that while the 24-year-old’s fitness record has been impeccable over the last two seasons, the Premier League is a different ball game.

This comes after Portuguese Sport TV journalist Sebastiao Sousa Pinto reported on 2 June that talks have been arranged between the two clubs over a potential £17million transfer.

Speaking exclusively with West Ham Zone, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and a Sports Scientist, said:

“His injury record looks to be impeccable which speaks to his fitness levels and habits.

“However, the Premier League is a different ball game.

He will have to continue those habits along with reflecting his fitness training to reflect the demands of the Premier League and being bedded in gradually.

All that being said, he could still pick up a contact injury which no level of training can often prepare you for.

West Ham must consider Jota Silva transfer this summer

Silva could thrive at the London Stadium due to his impressive goal-scoring and playmaking abilities.

The 24-year-old Portuguese winger had a standout season with Vitoria Guimaraes, scoring 15 goals and providing seven assists across all competitions.

His versatility allows him to play on the left wing or centrally, which would give Julen Lopetegui tactical flexibility.

Silva’s pace, dribbling, and crossing ability would add a new dimension to West Ham’s attack, providing service for the likes of Michail Antonio, Mohammed Kudus and Jarrod Bowen.
