Harry Kane determined to win titles with Bayern Munich this season

It’s pretty safe to say that Harry Kane is due some silverware at a top flight club and Bayern needs to win some this season.

The start of the 2024/25 Bundesliga campaign is right around the corner for Bayern Munich as they look to get back to their winning ways after going a full season without a piece of silverware for the first time in over a decade last season. The start of competitive matches is even sooner with the first round DFB-Pokal clash at SSV Ulm in what will well and truly be the start of a new era at the club. It will be Vincent Kompany’s first competitive match in charge of the club after taking for Thomas Tuchel, coming off of a preseason friendly record of four wins, one draw, and zero losses.

Collectively, Bayern was far from good enough last season under Tuchel, but that did not spot Harry Kane from scoring goals at will. Of course, the running joke on social media of Harry Kane never being able to win major silverware was extended for another season in what was an incredibly rare trophy-barren season from the Rekordmeister, but he still showed what he was capable of himself last season. He tallied a total of 44 goals and 12 assists from 44 appearances across all competitions en-route to Bayern finish 3rd in the Bundesliga and getting to the Champions League semifinals, where they were ultimately knocked out by Real Madrid.

Looking forward to the 2024/25 campaign, Kane still wants to find he back of the net as often as possible, but he is far more concerned with getting Bayern back to winning titles as they always have done. “I want to keep scoring goals and help the team. But the main goal is to win titles. We have to get Bayern back to winning titles. That’s my goal, that’s the club’s goal. It won’t be easy – but we have a great coach, we have a lot of fresh energy and high intensity in training. You will see that in the games too. I’m very excited to see how it goes,” the England skipper recently told SportBild
