Nottingham Forest have made a decision to reject the terms of a new Premier League settlement with the members of the EFL – and Stan Collymore is absolutely furious.

The Forest legend has taken to X to vent an explosive rant about the situation.

So, what has Collymore said about Forest and their decision over the EFL settlement? Let’s take a closer look…

What Stan Collymore said about Forest choosing to reject EFL deal
Well, it would appear as though the man who served the Reds with distinction as a player isn’t happy with Forest.

The Daily Mail claimed that Forest were one of the 10 clubs to shoot down the new £900 million EFL deal – and Collymore thinks they should be ashamed.

In an explosive post on X, he took aim with the 10 clubs and he wrote a very strong message that we’ve removed the swearing from. He said:

“Utter disgrace from the 10 clubs.

“They should remember how many of them have played 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th tier football in the blink of an eye instead of giving it the big un.

“Not ONE Premier League exists WITHOUT the pyramid it came from.

“Jokers the lot.”

Collymore does make some good points

In our view, the former striker does have a bit of a point. Earlier today, we’ve already mentioned that Forest could live to regret this decision.

Forest legend Collymore is clearly passionate about this. However, this is merely an indictment of what a sad state of affairs modern-day football is becoming.

It does feel as though most of the clubs – particularly the established Premier League ones – want to keep getting richer and sod the small fry.

This would seemingly confirm that notion and perhaps there shouldn’t be a choice for the country’s elite clubs.

Going forward, there is talk that the government could get involved if a deal can’t be struck.

Collymore will be rooting for this to be the case. Now, it remains to be seen if Forest – and the other clubs – will change their stance as this one develops.
