Sources: West Ham braced for bidding war with Man United over signing…

According to sources who spoke to Football Insider, Premier League teams are expected to compete with West Ham and Nottingham Forest for Le Havre star Arouna Sangante this summer.

According to Football Insider, the Ligue 1 team rejected offers made by Forest and the Irons on deadline day for the 21-year-old.

The proposals that came in were for a possible loan arrangement, but Le Havre was only willing to let Sangante go permanently.

Having caught the attention of European elite teams since his senior breakout, he is currently one of the hottest properties in French football.

The Senegalese center back, who is also capable of playing right back, will now continue to work on his game in France in anticipation of a possible big-money transfer later in the year.

In November 2023, Football Insider disclosed that Sangante is being pursued by Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea, and European powerhouses Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan.

The sensation is the captain at Le Havre and is the youngest skipper in the French top flight.

His contract with the Normandy side, which was renewed last year (2023), is set to run until June 2026.

Sangante, who helped his boyhood team win promotion in the 2022–23 campaign, has made 17 appearances this term across all competitions.

Kurt Zouma, Nayef Aguerd, and Konstantinos Mavropanos are among the center backs that West Ham presently has available.
