Tottenham have to wait until Monday to kick off their new campaign, facing newly promoted Leicester City. Brentford, Fulham and Crystal Palace will also be looking to get off the a strong start with the former and the latter facing each other. As the new season dawns, we have rounded up all the latest news surrounding the Premier League clubs.

Guehi latest

Crystal Palace remain in talks with Newcastle United over the possible sale of England international Marc Guehi. “Negotiations are ongoing on this one. Newcastle are, I would say, quite confident they have returned with a new bid, that they are in direct contact with Crystal Palace.

“Palace always wanted something like £65 million for Marc. So that’s why the negotiation has always been difficult, but the interest is still there.”

Liverpool ‘agree’ deal

Liverpool are closing in on a deal to sign Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashivili. The Reds have agreed terms with the the Georgia keeper and talks are well underway to secure the deal.

It’s claimed Mamardashivili is being signed with a view to being Alisson Becker’s successor, though he will first spend a year or two back out on loan to ensure his development is not stubbed by playing a bench role. The Valencia keeper will be Liverpool’s first signing of the summer.

Manchester United are being linked with a move for Brentford frontman Ivan Toney this summer, but Bees boss is confident the England international will stay put “There’s been a lot of talk about Ivan,” Frank told Sky Sports.

“The last six months, about will he leave this summer. So far he’s still a Brentford player, so I think we’re getting closer and closer to that he is actually a Brentford player [this season]. I’m getting more and more excited because he’s a top player and I’m loving working with Ivan. We’ve got a fantastic relationship. That’s what I think, he will be a Brentford player after September 1.”
