Oliver Glasner shares injury update after Crawley Town pre-season win

Crystal Palace continue their work to prepare for the new Premier League season, with pre-season now firmly underway.

The Eagles squad are being put through their paces as Oliver Glasner looks to build upon a positive end to the previous campaign.

It was a second half of the season that had its challenges, with plenty of injury concerns, but with a new style of play, there was a fresh look to Crystal Palace.

Many will be hopeful that the form can continue into the Premier League, with a draw against Charlton being backed up by a 6-3 win over Crawley.

There was a return for Cheick Doucoure, who came back from injury but has since suffered another issue in pre-season.

Cheick Doucoure injury update

Doucoure missed the second half of last season with an Achilles Tendon injury, coming as a huge blow to the side after his impressive start.

The midfielder has been working hard for a return in the coming weeks but has suffered a slight setback.

In the pre-season match against Crawley, the Mali international went down off the ball, and required some treatment from the physios.

While Doucoure carried on, he was later withdrawn at half-time with a slight concern that Glasner has since discussed.

Speaking to PalaceTV, he said: “I hope it’s nothing serious with Cheick Doucoure today, but it looks not serious.”

It remains to be seen whether the midfielder will be available for the clash with West Ham in the USA in midweek.
