Miguel Ribeiro confirms €5m bid rejected for Wolves transfer target
An English club have reportedly had a bid rejected for Famalicao defender Francisco Moura.
Portuguese side Famalicao ‘refused’ an offer of €5m from an English club. Club president Miguel Ribeiro’s stance is that the club will not sell Moura for lower than the €7.5m clause he has in his contract.
SC Braga have a 50% sell-on-clause on Moura, and so Famalicao at least want some money to come their way and are holding out for as much as possible.
In early June, it was reported by the Portuguese press, most specifically A BOLA that Wolves had an interest in Moura. A BOLA reported that there was interest from clubs in England and Spain, and that he was valued at around €10m.
Moura has spent two seasons with Famalicao and recorded four goals and nine assists in 73 games. He has helped his team to two consecutive eighth-placed finishes.
He is under contract with Famalicao until the summer of 2027, and his club will be reluctant to part with him having been a regular feature in their side over the last two years. His whole career has been spent in his native Portugal, having also been on the books of Coimbra and SC Braga. Moura has 93 games of top-flight experience, and has also played in the UEFA Europa League 13 times.
