Jose Mourinho makes big claim about title race between Arsenal, Liverpool & Man City

In talking about this season’s championship fight, Roma manager Jose Mourinho has ruled out two of his former teams, Chelsea and Manchester United, but, somewhat surprisingly, he has also hinted that league leaders Arsenal won’t be significant competitors.

In an interview with John Mikel Obi, a former player, on The Obi One Podcast, Mourinho disputed that it had anything to do with his previous rivalry with the Gunners, saying rather that he didn’t think Mikel Arteta’s team was in the appropriate position at this time.

Rather, Mourinho continues to rank Manchester City as the slight favorites, giving them a 51% chance to win the championship and Liverpool a 49% chance.

Why Mourinho feels hesitant about Arsenal, who are presently leading the league, is not quite evident.  and who pushed treble winners City really close last season as well.

Since joining AFC from West Ham in the summer, Declan Rice has been a fantastic addition. Kai Havertz is also beginning to play well, while young players like William Saliba and Bukayo Saka have certainly undoubtedly not reached their prime yet.

In contrast, City may no longer be considered a realistic favorite following a very bad run of play in which they have only won one of their previous six Premier League games.
