Foundation takeover for Sunderland match

The Community Sports Foundation are taking over this Saturday’s fixture with Sunderland at Carrow Road in the Sky Bet Championship (KO 3pm).

The club’s official charity is planning a host of activities to highlight its crucial work in the community and how Canary fans can support it.

There will be pre-match performances from the Foundation’s Disability Dance Troupe outside the stadium, the Pan-Disability football team will be showing off their skills on the pitch, and at half-time there will be a pitch-side parade of participants, staff and volunteers.

Schedule

  • 1pm – Inflatable activities outside the stadium
  • 1.35pm – Disability Dance Troupe perform outside the South Stand
  • 1.45pm – Pan-Disability team on the pitch
  • 2.15pm – Disability Dance Troupe perform outside the Canaries store
  • Half-time – Pitch Parade of staff, volunteers, and participants
  • The takeover day was announced with a video featuring past and present Norwich City players interacting with Foundation participants and staff who had ‘taken over’ various matchday roles at Carrow Road.

Current first-teamers Jack Stacey and Sam McCallum joined former City favourites Darren Huckerby, Grant Holt, Darren Eadie, Adam Drury, Simon Lappin and Ryan Jarvis on camera, all in the name of promoting the work of the Foundation.

Drury, Lappin and Jarvis are in fact all members of the Foundation’s team, working on the football and education programmes for young people.

    Foundation staff and participants featured:

    • Darren Hunter, Disability & Inclusion Manager – Post-Match Interviewer
    • Pete Brown, Extra Time Coach (Over 55s) – Lion & Castle Bartender
    • Rory, Disability Football – Head Coach
