The four Coventry City players that are most likely to leave the CBS Arena in June

The Sky Blues narrowly missed out on promotion last year after a penalty shoot-out defeat to Luton Town in the play-off final.

Mark Robins’ side suffered something of a hangover from that disappointment, with key players departing in the summer to make matters worse.

However, the team is now in the mix for another top six spot and will be hoping to go one step further than last year in their bid for a place back in the top flight.

But this summer could yet see more important players depart the CBS Arena.

Here we look at the likely player exits at Coventry from June onwards…

Players that could depart Coventry in 2024
Player Name Joined club Contract expiration
Callum O’Hare 2020 2024
Liam Kelly 2017 2024
Simon Moore 2021 2024
Ben Sheaf 2021 2026

1. Callum O’Hare

Callum O’Hare has been a standout figure for Robins’ side since getting back to full fitness near the end of 2023.

The midfielder has scored some important goals this season to help power the team’s rise up the table and into the play-off battle.

However, his contract is set to expire at the end of the campaign, which would allow him to walk away from the club for nothing.

It would be a huge blow if he were to depart, with talks ongoing over a new deal.

O’Hare has been the subject of trasfer interest in the past, with the likes of Southampton, Leicester City, and Burnley among the clubs monitoring his future.

2. Liam Kelly

Liam Kelly has been an important squad player for Coventry since joining the club in the summer of 2017.

He has been with the Sky Blues on their rise from League Two to the Championship play-off final.

But his game time has been severely limited this campaign, and his importance to the side is dwindling.

With his contract set to expire in the summer, uncertainty remains over his future at the CBS Arena beyond this campaign.

A move away from the club in June could well be on the cards after a successful seven years with Coventry.

3. Simon Moore

Simon Moore has firmly been third choice between the sticks for Robins’ side so far this season.

The 33-year-old is well down the pecking order at Coventry – with Brad Collins and Ben Wilson ahead of him as things stand.

Given the player’s contract is set to expire at the end of the campaign, a departure seems incredibly likely.

The goalkeeper has been with the Sky Blues since 2021 but hasn’t played for the team since an FA Cup third round defeat to Wrexham in January 2023.

4. Ben Sheaf

Ben Sheaf is a key figure for Robins’ side as they look to fight for promotion to the Premier League.

The midfielder has been a mainstay in the team when available, stepping his game up after Gustavo Hamer’s departure, and Robins will be keen to ensure he has a big role to play in the run-in once he makes his return from a hamstring injury.

But it was report in January that Luton were interested in the 26-year-old.

While no deal materialised, the Hatters could reprise their interest in the player once the campaign concludes.
