Bayern Munich move ahead of Real Madrid to sign Man United star

Champions of the Bundesliga Bayern Munich are expected to submit a first-round bid for Raphael Varane, the Manchester United outcast.

The German powerhouses are reportedly prepared to spend up to €20 million for the 2018 World Cup winner, according to the Spanish tabloid SPORT.

Given that two of their stars will be gone on international duty in January, Bayern Munich will be in dire need of a center back signing.

Alongside Kim Min-jae, another defender Noussair Mazraoui will be playing for Morocco at the African Cup of Nations while Kim Min-jae is headed to play for South Korea in the Asian Cup.

The former defender for Real Madrid is no longer a member of the Man United squad. At the moment, the club ranks him as their fifth-choice center back.

In the correct order of precedence are Luke Shaw, Jonny Evans, Harry Maguire, and Victor Lindelof. Regaining Varane’s spot in the starting lineup will be considerably harder if Lisandro Martinez returns from his injury.

Varane is valued between €15 and €20 million by the Red Devils, and they won’t prevent him from leaving the team.

According to recent remarks made by Erik ten Hag, Varane and Maguire are not an idea partnership.

He stated, “They [Maguire and Varane] can play together in certain situations and they have already shown they can.”

“However, when one of them is playing from the left center-back position, the build-up is not as fluid.”

Real Madrid, Varane’s former squad, and Al-Nassr, a Saudi club where his old colleague Cristiano Ronaldo plays football, are both showing interest in him.
