Coventry City match reaction from CoventryLive as Sky Blues fans react to Leicester player’s post-match comments

After mocking his rivals’ post-match festivities, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, the goal scorer for Leicester, was accused by Coventry City supporters of being a “sour grape.” As they do with every victory at the CBS Arena, the Sky Blues celebrated their 3-1 M69 derby victory with gusto. Milan van Ewijk led the supporters in applauding after the final whistle.

Leicester City don't need Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to be a hero - Leicestershire Live

Dewsbury-Hall, who scored a penalty kick to give the Foxes the lead in the first half, said in an interview with Sky Sports following the game: “When we’re winning and doing so well in the league, when teams beat us it’s genuinely like they have won promotion themselves, so look, let them have their day.” Yes, it’s a component of the game. It’s football.

After reading his remarks on social media, fans of the city quickly expressed their disapproval. These are their words.

Rob Jones I’m devastated. KDH is a tremendously good player, but he comes across as a spoiled brat. Watch the two games again, boy. You finished second in each of them, and now that you’ve lost the major local derby, it’s your fault.

Lee Marlow: Salty little s***. Got mugged off by Sheaf all day and gives it the Barry big one. Should take it on the chin and be gracious about it, the clown.

Jon Bridgeman: They are the very epitome of a former Premier League club. An all pervading sense of self entitlement, smug when they win, poor sports when they lose. A complete lack of class and complete lack of ability to cope when teams have the temerity not to roll over and surrender to them.

Jake Russell: What a sour little man. Sums his personality up.

James: Where was he last season when hey were bottom three for 80 percent of heir year?

Col White: Delusional. Lost all respect for this guy. Their team shows no connection with their fans, unlike ours.

Jeeps: He needs to keep away from those grapes – very sour indeed. Zero class.

Paul: Take the loss with some dignity. Better team won on the day.

SkyBlueJay: Say what you want to make yourself feel better. It was a derby game.

Callum Moseley: He’s gunna cry in a minute.
