The Reds really were great, didn’t they? They dominated play from the opening minute to the very end, scoring four goals and having plenty of opportunities to score more. But Liverpool did give up twice, and Klopp claims it particularly infuriated the number one player at Liverpool, who makes £150,000 a week (Spotrac).

Jurgen Klopp says Alisson Becker was annoyed after Liverpool vs Newcastle

After the first half of the season, Liverpool doesn’t really have many issues.

They have a match coming up, but Pep Guardiola’s team is comfortably leading the Premier League standings by five points over both Arsenal and Manchester City.

The Reds must have been frustrated that the two teams ended the half level at 0-0. Last night’s match against Newcastle could have been extremely difficult.

But second-half goals from Curtis Jones and Cody Gakpo, along with a brace from Mohamed Salah, sent them through to victory.

Nevertheless, Newcastle gave up two goals, and following the match, Klopp said that Alisson wasn’t feeling well.

According to Liverpool’s official website, he stated: “Once again, it was a really good game from beginning to end, and having these options to choose from is obviously quite helpful.”

“Everything about the game and the atmosphere was great, except for the goals that were clearly given up; Ali [Alisson Becker] was clearly upset about this. However, we move on and disregard that for tonight.

Liverpool should back themselves to win the Premier League title

Almost everyone believed that Arsenal and Manchester City would compete for the title at the beginning of the season, thus nobody truly anticipated Liverpool to be in the running.

But as we start the new year, the Reds are five points ahead of both of them, and they should now genuinely feel like they can win it all.

However, Wataru Endo and Mohamed Salah’s unavailability due to international service will be Klopp’s team’s first challenge going forward.

Even if Gary Neville stated last night that Arsenal will win the Premier League this season, Liverpool will be the favorites if they can survive the upcoming month.
