Predicted Liverpool lineup against Sheffield United: Gravenberch, Konate to start

Ryan Gravenberch and Ibrahima Konate will start when Liverpool take on Sheffield United at Bramall Lane on Wednesday.
Liverpool performed well to come back from 3-2 down to win 4-3 in the closing moments of the game against Fulham this past weekend. That means they will be brimming with confidence when they play Sheffield United at Bramall Lane on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Sheffield United are going through a hard time and they have swapped managers. So, Chris Wilder has a hard job at hand to grind out a result against Liverpool this midweek. Alisson Becker and Diogo Jota will not be available for Liverpool at this time.

Both players are recovering from the knocks they sustained against Manchester City, but they remain unavailable for selection this week. Meanwhile, Joel Matip picked up an injury during the second half against Fulham, and he is likely to be sidelined for a while. Klopp provided an update on the Cameroonian defender during his pre-match press conference.

“I don’t know exactly [how long he will be out] but it doesn’t look good, that’s something we can say,” Jurgen Klopp said during his presser before adding, “The scan is not done yet so we don’t know exactly, but it’s not great. From the first second it was clear, we spoke to him and said, ‘No, that’s not good.’”

The Reds are still without Andrew Robertson, Stefan Bajcetic, and Thiago Alcantara for an extended period of time. Regarding the starting lineup, Caoimhin Kelleher will stay in goal after playing admirably against Fulham.

The starting full-backs are Kostas Tsimikas and Trent Alexander-Arnold. Both of the players’ goals will be to support the attack and shield the central defenders. In Matip’s place, Ibrahima Konate will start at the center of defense and team up with Virgil van Dijk.
