Everton confirm departure of ‘impressive’ defender as manager sends classy message

Everton transfer news as defender makes the switch to Ross County.

Everton have allowed Eli Campbell to join Ross County on a season-long loan.

The defender moves to the Scottish Premiership outfit for the 2024-25 season. It’s Campbell’s second loan of his career after he spent the second half of last term at Fleetwood Town

The 20-year-old was part of Sean Dyche’s pre-season squad, playing in friendlies against Sligo Rovers, Salford City, Coventry City and Preston North End. But now he’s moved to Ross County hoping to continue his development.

Manager Don Cowie told the Staggies’ website: ‘We are really happy to secure Eli for the season. He has represented England at U18 level as well as captaining the Everton U18 side, he brings another option to the left-side of our defence. He was impressive during his time at Fleetwood and we are delighted to have him here for the season ahead. Thank you to Everton for their help in making this deal happen.’
