Fulham have officially signed Defender

Andersen has committed to a deal with Fulham that will keep him there through the summer of 2029, with a one-year extension option. Andersen reflected on his comeback and shared his joy, saying, “It’s great to be here. It’s a pleasant feeling, somewhat like returning home.”
He continued, “I didn’t need anyone to convince me because I knew a lot of things already. I knew the club, I knew how Fulham was playing, I knew many players, and I knew some staff.”
Andersen’s decision to return to Fulham was influenced in large part by his familiarity with the team’s personnel and style of play. Andersen said, “I had some good talks with the manager.” “I know the playing style he likes to play, so it was just a decision I needed to make myself, with my wife and family, and see what’s the best for me, and I think this is a good step for my career.” Andersen will don the number 5 shirt, which he wore while he was a Fulham player.

Despite Fulham’s relegation, he left a lasting impression during his loan period, captaining the team in 17 Premier League games and finishing second in the team’s Player of the Season voting. Throughout Europe, Andersen established a strong reputation before to his tenure at Fulham. At the age of 18, he made his professional debut at the Dutch club Twente, where he would go on to make 49 appearances.

He later relocated to Sampdoria in Italy, where he established himself as a vital member of the team and gained acclaim as one of the best young defenders in Serie A.
Lyon was impressed by his performances and signed him for a club record amount. During Andersen’s time at Lyon, the team advanced to the French Cup and Champions League semifinals. Andersen left Crystal Palace following three successful seasons in which he made 113 appearances, to join Fulham permanently. On the international scene, Andersen has made 36 appearances for Denmark and has competed in competitions such as Euro 2020, Euro 2022, and World Cup 2022.
