Aston Villa decides on a deal after rejecting a transfer.

The latest Aston Villa transfer news as Lamare Bogarde looks set to commit to the club after an exit was rejected earlier this summer

Aston Villa academy talent Lamare Bogarde will reportedly sign a new contract with the club.

The 20-year-old has been subject to exit rumours throughout the summer months, owing to the fact he sits with one year remaining on his current Villa deal. Midlands rivals Nottingham Forest monitored the situation closely and were supposedly rebuffed in an attempt to sign him last month

He has since racked up six pre-season appearances for the club, catching the eye as a versatile defender capable of stepping into midfield. Now, according to Fabrizio Romano, an accord is set to be reached and Bogarde is to commit his future once and for all.

He claims that the youngster, who has made one senior appearance for Villa in the FA Cup three years ago on top of 46 outings in the club’s youth set-up, is due to put pen to paper on Monday as part of a ‘long term project’.

Expectation at the start of the month was that Bogarde would head out on loan for the 2024/25 campaign once his contract situation was resolved. Interest will not be short.

In the past, the majority of his professional experience has been gained via separate temporary switches spanning almost the entirety of 2023, both with Bristol Rovers, where he made 36 appearances in total. Born in the Netherlands, he has also represented his country up to Under-20 level.
