Stan Collymore shares what Forest are now planning to do after speaking to staff at the club

Stan Collymore has been explaining what he was told when he was at Nottingham Forest a few weeks ago.

The former striker has been discussing club matters on TalkSPORT after the club were hit with a four-point deducted.

What Stan Collymore has heard from the Forest hierarchy

Well, it would appear as though Collymore has put his journalistic skills to good use here to give TalkSPORT a bit of an exclusive.

He was in attendance at Forest some time ago and he got the chance to have a chat with some of the hierarchy at the club.

Collymore is of the belief that Forest will definitely be appealing and belives the club feels very harshly treated.

He said live on TalkSPORT: “It will be appealed. I was at Forest the other week and managed to speak to some people behind the club and they feel very hard done by.

“I think the general consensus that Forest and Everton feel is that they cooperated with the Premier League at all points and the punishments have been particularly harsh.

“From a Forest perspective, particularly from the chairman down, not necessarily the owner, that they would also have to doff their cap to the Premier League and perhaps take the punishment and concentrate on the remaining eight or nine games.

“If they stay up and take the four points, it will be a worthwhile exercise and lesson learnt, but if they go down then it won’t.”

Collymore thinks Reds will now be appealing but they might not be successful

Given that Forest have only been deducted four points and remain in touching distance to Luton, we’re not sure appealing is overly wise.

It might not be successful and it means that the whole thing continues to drag on even further.

David Ornstein has claimed that Forest were very cooperative with the Premier League since the charge – and appealing could now poke the bear somewhat.

Everton are themselves facing another points deduction and they could yet be dragged even closer to Forest in the Premier League table.

It’s admirable that Forest are willing to appeal and although Collymore seems excited by it, it might not be the wisest thing for Fores to do.
