Bayern Munich loanee set to face off against parent club for SSV Ulm

Bayern Munich loanee Maurice Krattenmacher is in the position to take on his parent club as a member of SSV Ulm in the DFB-Pokal.

Krattenmacher is looking forward to the showdown.

“It’s a dream draw, a highlight for me, for the club, for the entire city. We’ve seen in the past years that smaller clubs also have a chance against the favourites in the Pokal. Everyone knows Bayern. I don’t really have an advantage. I’ve only rejoined Bayern this summer and didn’t train with the team. But I’m Bavarian through and through,” Krattenmacher told Tz’s Hanna Raif

When asked if SSV Ulm could pull a “Saarbrücken” and take down Bayern Munich, Krattenmacher did not dismiss the notion.

“Why not? But we need a perfect day and luck. We also need to work together as a team. It’s the first competitive game for them, so maybe they’re not in the rhythm yet. We could turn that to our advantage. Nevertheless, we of course know that if they’re in their normal form, it will be incredibly tough,” Krattenmacher remarked.
