West Ham fan fave seek last-ditch exit from London Stadium.

Tomas Soucek to seek last-gasp exit from West Ham United

The news website reported on Wednesday (14 August) that there’s a “serious possibility” of Soucek, 29, ending his four-and-a-half-year spell at the London Stadium in the final stages of the summer transfer window.

It is understood that Guido Rodriguez’s arrival on a free transfer could see Soucek slip further down Julen Lopetegui’s pecking order with Edson Alvarez and James Ward-Prowse already seemingly ahead of him in the midfield area.

West Ham are said to be willing to sell the Czechia international if he’s unhappy.

Soucek to call it quits at West Ham United?

It wouldn’t be a major shock to see Soucek leave the London Stadium before the clock strikes 11pm on 30 August and the transfer window shuts.

Last season, the former Slavia Prague midfielder was a key player for David Moyes, playing 52 times in all competitions and starting 34 Premier League matches.

However, with Lopetegui signing Rodriguez and also possessing Alvarez and Ward-Prowse as central or defensive midfield options, there’s a chance Soucek’s game time will be limited.

Soucek did start and play all 90 minutes of the Betway Cup win over Celta Vigo with the Irons fan favourite scoring in the penalty shoot-out.
