Max Eberl congratulates Michael Olise on winning Olympic silver, believes he can be gold for Bayern Munich

The recent Olympics men’s soccer final between France and Spain had it all. Eight goals, dramatic changes in momentum, a blown two goal lead, extra time, a dramatic late penalty given by VAR and more. Yet it was Spain that came out on top with a dramatic 5-3 win, bookending a summer of spectacular soccer success after their triumph earlier this summer in the 2024 EUROs. That meant that France and new Bayern Munich signing Michael Olise had to watch as Spain celebrated the ultimate success, instead settling for a disappointing silver medal.

But gold beckons the former Crystal Palace player via his new club. Via an official club statement, as captured by @iMiaSanMia, Director of Sport Max Eberl certainly thinks a brighter future and color are in store for the 22-year-old: “Congratulations to Michael Olise and the French national team on winning Olympic silver. With strong performances throughout the tournament, he proved that he can also be worth gold for FC Bayern.”

But he won’t just settle for being gold on the pitch. Stuck with crystals at his former club and silver with France, Olise will be hoping to finally win gold with Bayern.
