Leeds United’s allocation for Sheffield Wednesday confirmed with thousands set for Hillsborough trip

Sheffield Wednesday will play host to almost 4,000 Leeds United fans when the two sides face off later this month.
It will take just three Championship games in 2024/25 before Wednesday head into their first Yorkshire derby, with Leeds making the short trip to Hillsborough on August 23rd for an 8pm kick off in S6.

The two sides were at opposite ends of the table last season but remained in the division after Daniel Farke’s men were beaten in the play-off final and Danny Röhl’s outfit pulled off the great escape and stayed up on the final day – and the hope from a Wednesday perspective is that there won’t be such a big gap this time around.

What is for certain is that, despite it being a televised midweek night game, there will be plenty of fans heading over to the Owls’ home ground for their first encounter of the season in a few weeks’ time, including 3,800 Leeds fans after their allocation for the fixture was confirmed this week.

Adults will be charged ÂŁ45 for a seat as they head over from West Yorkshire for their third game of the new season, with the tie being delegated as a Category A fixture by the club. Home fans can get them for ÂŁ40 if they are members.

Leeds face Portsmouth and West Bromwich Albion in their first two matches before their trip to Wednesday, while for the Owls there are clashes with Plymouth Argyle and Sunderland as their campaign gets underway in what has the potential to be an exciting season.
