Leicester City closing in on Tottenham defender: View

Having spent the latter half of the 2023/24 Women’s Super League season on loan at the King Power Stadium, Asmita Ale has penned a three-year deal with the Foxes following the expiration of her Tottenham contract.

The 22-year-old, who previously rose through the England youth ranks, was a shining light on the banks of the River Soar last season, despite a difficult off-pitch period for the club following the termination of Willie Kirk’s contract.

Ale made seven appearances for the Foxes last term and will now return to Belvoir Drive on a permanent basis, linking up with new head coach Amandine Miquel following her unveiling on Tuesday.

Speaking to LCFC.com in her first interview since rejoining the club, Ale said: “I am super pleased to be staying at the club and it was an easy decision for me. There is so much opportunity to keep growing here and game-time is important at my age.

“I am already looking forward to next season. I can’t wait to be back out there with the team and show the fans what I can do. The club is constantly growing, we have great ambition and I want to be part of that journey,” she added.

Leicester City will unveil another signing at midday on Saturday, with the announcement set to be made in front of fans at a free-to-attend signing session at the King Power Stadium.
