Exclusive: Crystal Palace’s four-man signing plan revealed

Crystal Palace plan to sign a new left-back, right-back, attacking midfielder and striker this summer

Senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke explained that the Eagles will look to strengthen their depth by recruiting backup options for their current star players.

Tyrick Mitchell and Daniel Munoz are Oliver Glasner’s first-choice options at wing-back, but there is a lack of depth in those areas which Palace will look to remedy.

They are also expected to cash in on Odsonne Edouard this summer, meaning they will need a deputy for Jean-Philippe Mateta who hit sparking form last season.

Ebere Eze, meanwhile, has been heavily linked to a move away from Selhurst Park, and his exit would force the club into signing a replacement.

Crystal Palace four-man transfer plan revealed

The £50million sale of Michael Olise to Bayern Munich has seen the club make a substantial return on their £8million signing from Reading in 2021.

Sources say that money will be used to reinvest in the transfer market in an attempt to improve key areas across the side – rather than spending big on a replacement.

The Eagles will look to sign a like-for-like replacement for Olise, but the bulk of the money from his sale will be spread throughout the team.

Keeping sporting director Dougie Freedman, despite interest from Newcastle, was crucial for Palace’s transfer plans and allowed them to maintain their structure.

After the arrival of Glasner mid-way through last season, they will now look to continue their upward trajectory which saw them record a top-half finish.

Palace have a proven track record of success in the transfer window as seen with deals to bring the likes of Eze, Olise, Adam Wharton and Marc Guehi to South London.

They will now look to add to their list of stars and ensure their ambition plans for the future under Glasner can be achieved.
