West Ham fend off Manchester United, Man City to agree professional contract with youngster

West Ham United have agreed on a professional contract with highly-rated midfielder Chinaza Nwosu.

Manchester United, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur have been in contact with the midfielder’s representatives regarding a move away from the London club. It will be interesting to see if they contempt the 16-year-old into leaving West Ham in the coming months.

The midfielder has agreed to continue at the London club despite the interest from the Premier League elite, and he will sign a professional contract with them as soon as he turns 17 next year.

The midfielder cannot find a professional contract with the Premier League club until he turns 17 because of the FA regulations. He is expected to put pen to paper on the contract on his birthday now.

Nwosu could be a key player for West Ham

Nwosu is highly rated at the club and he has a bright future ahead of himself. He will be hoping to establish himself as a first-team player for the Hammers in the coming seasons. West Ham will not want to lose a prodigious young talent like him either.

The 16-year-old is a key member of the West Ham youth team and the Hammers must focus on his development right now. It will be interesting to see if they can nurture him properly over the next few years and help him break into the first team set up.

Staying at the London club could prove to be ideal for Nwosu at this stage of his career. He needs to play regularly and moving into a big club might limit his chances of making the cut in the first team.

If he manages to fulfil his tremendous potential with West Ham in the coming seasons, he will have plenty of opportunities to join the elite clubs.

Meanwhile, Manchester United, Manchester City and Tottenham have shown considerable interest in signing talented young players in recent seasons. They are looking to add to the formidable pool of young talent already at the club and it remains to be seen whether they can tempt West Ham with a lucrative proposal.
