Five Bayern Munich players have received call ups to the Germany squad for the Olympics

Some Bayern Munich Frauen players are set to have a busy summer following their call-ups to the German national squad for the Olympic games in France. According to the DFB’s website, the Frauen coach and former German international Horst Hrubesch has opted to call up five Bayern players:

FC Bayern Munich have five players in the squad: defender Giulia Gwinn, midfielders Lena Oberdorf and Sydney Lohmann and attackers Klara Bühl and Lea Schüller.

Bayern is the second best represented after Wolfsburg who have seven players:

In addition to Popp, the squad includes six other players from Wolfsburg. They include Kathrin Hendrich, another player who took part in Rio 2016, her defensive colleagues Marina Hegering and Sarai Linder, as well as the two attacking players Jule Brand and Vivien Endemann and goalkeeper Merle Frohms.

The Frauen are seemingly going to be a formidable side in the Olympics and might bring home a few medals!
