Leicester City needs to make sure that neither of these two transfer scenarios occurs January.

Leicester City will be pleased with the start to their 2023–24 Championship season. As the season draws to a close, the Foxes and Ipswich Town are the two dominant teams in the division. They have set themselves up nicely to advance and earn automatic promotion in May.

There are still a lot of games to be played and the January transfer window to be navigated, so there is still a lot to get done before then.

The Foxes must make sure that no talent is taken by another club, even if they will undoubtedly be eager to expand their choices. In light of this, we’ve covered two transfer possibilities below that the Foxes shouldn’t permit to occur during the winter season.

Jamie Vardy leaving for Saudi Arabia

Jamie Vardy leaving the Foxes is one transfer scenario that they absolutely cannot let to happen.

Vardy is in his later years and is currently 36 years old, however there have recently been rumors that he would relocate to Saudi Arabia.

Vardy apparently declined a move to the Gulf State in the summer, but reports from a few days ago indicated that they are eager to try to sign him again.

But the Foxes value Vardy far too highly to allow him leave.

The seasoned forward is a valuable asset to the team despite not being a regular starter these days because of his leadership qualities in addition to his goals.

As a result of his extensive experience at Foxes—having played for the team for more than ten years—Vardy has led the team on several occasions this season.

Not only that, but he has six goals in his eighteen Championship games, which is not a bad return considering his squad role.

Vardy’s departure may cause a stir given Leicester’s strong league standing and automatic promotion push, therefore they can’t afford to let it happen.

Wilfred Ndidi leaving for Barcelona

Galatasaray Join Race For Wilfred Ndidi

The departure of midfielder Wilfred Ndidi could cause some stirs at Leicester, much like Vardy’s exit might.

Despite not having been a member of the King Power Stadium’s roster for as long as Vardy, the Nigerian midfielder is nonetheless regarded as one of the team’s senior players due to his tenure there since 2017 and his skill set.

Ndidi’s ability makes it clear that he could be performing at a higher level than the Championship, and as a result, connections to FC Barcelona have surfaced recently.

This happens after teams like Celtic, Nottingham Forest, and Bayern Munich shown interest in Ndidi.

But Leicester cannot allow this to occur.

A player of Ndidi’s caliber can continue to be essential to their pursuit of promotion, even if they can only hang onto him until the summer. Consequently, allowing him to depart could jeopardize their chances of making an early return to the Premier League.
