Rangers fans rage at ‘shocking’ Celtic star

Rangers fans backing Scotland on Sunday night have not held back with their review of the performance of Callum McGregor.

McGregor was part of Steve Clarke’s side who crashed out of Euro 2024 as the bottom nation in Group A, after a devastating 100th-minute winner from Hungary gave them hope of a place in the knockout rounds.

Football Insider reported on 19 June criticism levelled at players including Celtic captain McGregor by Graeme Souness, and members of the Tartan Army who are also of a Rangers persuasion have laid into the midfielder.

Scotland became the first nation to be eliminated as the fourth-placed side in a group following Sunday’s result, with a solitary point against Switzerland in the second group fixture the only prize to show from their efforts.

Rangers fans backing Scotland slam McGregor

McGregor, along with Anthony Ralston, were the Celtic duo who featured in Clarke’s Scotland lineup for the defeat, as Rangers fans made their feelings clear on social media.
