View: West Ham well placed to seal transfer hijack ahead of Nottingham Forest as £3.4m ace to jet in for medical this week

West Ham now have a few days left to secure a transfer hijack of Carlos Miguel ahead of Nottingham Forest.

According to the Telegraph journalist John Percy, the 25-year-old Corinthians goalkeeper is expected to jet into the United Kingdom to undergo his medical ahead of a £3.4million transfer.

The Hammers have made an offer to sign Miguel and have also entered advanced negotiations [Globo] but he appears to be heading to the City Ground, as things stand.

Via Twitter, Percy wrote: “Nottingham Forest are close to making their first signing of the summer – Corinthians goalkeeper Carlos Miguel is expected to fly in for a medical later this week ahead of a £3.4m move. Forest have triggered Miguel’s release clause and view the deal as very good business.”

West Ham must attempt a late hijack if they want to seal Carlos Miguel transfer

The Hammers can attempt to hijack the Miguel transfer by making a last-ditch, more lucrative offer to the player and his club.

They could propose a higher transfer fee and a more appealing contract to Miguel, potentially swaying his decision in their favour.

Additionally, West Ham could leverage their status as a Premier League club to entice Miguel, emphasising the opportunity to play in one of the world’s top football leagues and not be in a relegation battle as expected at Forest.

The club could also highlight their recent success and ambition, presenting a compelling case for the Brazilian to choose them over Nottingham Forest.

This strategy would require swift action and decisive negotiations to disrupt the deal that is already in motion.

It remains to be seen if the Hammers are still keen on him or have moved on to other targets.
