Anthony Elanga sparks Morgan Gibbs-White transfer plea after Nottingham Forest message

Morgan Gibbs-White has thanked Nottingham Forest fans for their support through a rollercoaster season.

Within an hour of the Reds’ season finale, a 2-1 victory over Burnley, the 24-year-old took to social media to sum up what has been a remarkable campaign.

The attacker played the full 90 minutes at Turf Moor, as Chris Wood scored twice to ensure Forest finished six points clear of the relegation places.

Soon after he posted a message to fans on Instagram and X: “What a season! Full of ups and downs but one thing that has remained constant has been your support throughout. Can’t thank you all enough for the love and belief you’ve given us. What a city, what a club!”

However, team-mate Anthony Elanga sparked concern among some respondents by commenting: “Loved playing with you bro’ – leaving fans wondering if it was a typo, a joke or an indication the former Wolves man might be moving on.

One replied ‘Pls don’t leave’ while others also urged Gibbs-White to remain at the City Ground

That comes after Gibbs-White was linked with a summer move to Tottenham, the same journey made by Brennan Johnson 12 months ago. Gibbs-White has another three years remaining on the contract he signed in 2022.
