Coventry City double act can inflict serious damage in 2024/25: View
|Whichever system Mark Robins goes with next season, Ellis Simms and Haji Wright could be major assets for the Sky Blues next season.
Coventry City are in a good position to build on what was a mixed 2023/24 campaign.
They didn’t enjoy the best finish to the season, but they have a lot of the ingredients needed to secure a place high up in the division next term, with Ephron Mason-Clark set to return from his loan at Peterborough United.
The Sky Blues still managed to secure a respectable finish last term despite losing Viktor Gyokeres and Gustavo Hamer and that will give them hope that they can get points on the board without them again next season.
Recruiting fairly well in the past couple of windows, their business and the presence of 2021 arrival Ben Sheaf could allow them to achieve great things, if the ex-Arsenal man remains at the Coventry Building Society Arena beyond the end of the upcoming summer transfer window.
Sheaf, plus summer 2023 additions Ellis Simms and Haji Wright, could guide Coventry to glory during the 2024/25 season, with the latter two scoring plenty of goals last term.
Simms didn’t always have things his way during 2023/24, but he turned out to be a deadly goalscorer in the end and played an important part in guiding the club to an FA Cup semi-final clash against Manchester United.
