Xabi Alonso provides update on his Bayern Munich stance

Bayern Munich have one looming situation which they must address before the end of the season and that is the decision of which coach will manage the historic club in the 2024/25 campaign. The consensus is that Thomas Tuchel is set to leave the club, having seemingly coached his final home game already. Although, the Bayern Munich players are campaigning for the German coach to remain.

It is completely unlike Bayern Munich to leave such a big decision until crunch time. Usually, they are meticulous in their decision making and more prepared than most European clubs, hence why they have functioned above all expectations in seasons prior to the current.

Xabi Alonso provides update on his Bayern Munich stance

The obvious name to throw around is Xabi Alonso. The former Bayern Munich legend currently manages Bayer Leverkusen, the only Bundesliga side to have an edge over Thomas Tuchel’s Bayern this season.

However, Xabi Alonso has already toyed with the idea of managing Bayern Munich. It just doesn’t seem like this season will be his time to commit which is understandable, given that he is on the precipice of a truly historic unbeaten season with Leverkusen.

According to an update from Abendzeitung, Xabi Alonso has indicated that he would like to manage the three clubs he remains a legend at (Real Madrid, Liverpool and Bayern Munich). However, the only thing which Xabi Alonso remains unclear about is in which order he would like to manage those clubs.

So, this is good news for Bayern Munich fans. While it remains unlikely that Xabi Alonso will replace Thomas Tuchel in the current year, it is good to know that he has the club in mind for his future endeavours.

As one of the youngest managers in the European scene, it is a breath of fresh air to see Xabi Alonso take the world by storm. Of course, it is disastrous to witness from a Bayern Munich perspective but if the club legend returns to take the reigns of Bayern, then Die Roten will ultimately be the beneficiary.
