Rangers star returns to training after injury as Auchenhowie footage shared on social media

Rangers striker Danilo has shared a new injury update on social media as he continues to step up his recovery at Auchenhowie.

The Brazilian forward hasn’t played for the Light Blues since December when he picked up a medial ligament injury that required surgery, with Philippe Clement confirming his season has been brought to a premature end.

While it seems unlikely that the 25-year-old will make a surprise return to the fold in the final weeks of the campaign, he took to X to share a video of him back on the training pitch with the ball at his feet as he continues his recovery.

The post on his personal X account on Monday (6 May) shows the forward running with the ball and passing into an empty net before doing some one-to-one work with a coach with the caption “can’t stop won’t stop.”

Will Danilo play for Rangers and Philippe Clement this season after injury update?
The Gers have really lacked Danilo’s goals in the second half of the campaign as the Brazilian’s absence partnered with the fitness issues that have plagued Kemar Roofe has left Clement reliant on Cyriel Dessers.

After a slow start at Ibrox, the Nigerian has shown signs of improvement in recent weeks and he seems to be getting more and more comfortable with the Scottish game with each match, but he is still not the finished article.

Danilo himself wasn’t the perfect centre-forward, but in just five Premiership starts this season, he managed to score five goals and pick up one assist. Had he been fit in 2024, the entire title race may have been completely different.

Hopefully, he’ll be back fit and firing come the start of next season as that would be a massive boost to Clement. A new striker should still be on the agenda but having a fully fit Danilo would be a step in the right direction.
