JUST IN: Manchester United sign £328,000 a week star

Manchester United wants to bring in Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong to help them with their midfield makeover in the summer.

Sport recently reported that Man Utd are keen to sign De Jong, who has also been Chelsea’s target.

Now, even Paris Saint-Germain are pushing to lure the Dutch international from Barcelona.

Earlier this month, Sport reported that De Jong’s salary of £328,000 a week is a massive concern for the Blaugrana.

The Catalan outlet claim Barca have offered him a new deal to bring the wage bill down and if he does not accept, they could force him to leave in the summer.

PSG are preparing to revolutionize the team after the departure of Kylian Mbappe and could submit a big offer to sign Frenkie de Jong.

At Old Trafford, the quality and depth of the midfield must be improved. Casemiro is past his best and so is Eriksen. The duo should be offloaded soon.

On the other hand, Mount has been injury prone since his move from Chelsea in the summer and Amrabat has failed to shine thus far in the loan spell.

In such a scenario, a world class star like Frenkie de Jong would strengthen the department but the question is, can Man Utd attract him with only hefty wages?

The Old Trafford outfit are in top form at the moment but they are still five points behind Villa, who currently occupy the final Champions League qualification spot.
