Thomas Tuchel slams Bayern Munich players including Harry Kane in angry rant after Lazio defeat

Following Bayern Munich’s humiliating Champions League loss against Lazio, Thomas Tuchel went on a tirade.

In the first leg of their round of 16 Champions League match, the Bavarian club traveled to the Stadio Olimpico in Rome, Italy on Wednesday night with the intention of defeating Serie A team Lazio.

But in the 69th minute, Ciro Immobile netted a penalty, and the German champions were defeated 1-0.

Despite having 17 efforts, Bayern failed to register a single shot on goal, making unpleasant history during the game.

An enraged Tuchel declared following the game, “No, I’m not worried about my future or [the] potential sack.” We exerted every effort to lose this game. We held it in our hands. I’m not sure why, but we stopped believing at some point. Numerous individual errors were present.

“We’re upset and irate by the loss. Although I’m not positive Lazio won, I believe we lost.

“We made mistakes and lost confidence, doing everything we could to fall behind,” he continued. Upamecano didn’t need to enter in that manner. It’s merely blocking the shot; it’s not crazy or deliberate.

However, our performance mysteriously declined in the second. We lost focus, committed too many individual mistakes, and strengthened our opponents. Our rhythm was gone. We were solely accountable for it. We lost a game today that appeared to be within reach in the first half.

Christoph Freund, the sporting director of Bayern Munich, stated to Sky Germany: “It is a challenging situation for all of us, so it is understandable that he is having difficulty.” Together, we want to battle our way out of this. Everybody is in the same boat.”

When Bayern plays VfL Bochum in the Bundesliga on Sunday afternoon, they will have the opportunity to make amends.

Bayern Munich’s miserable Champions League match versus Lazio produced unwelcome history.

Bayern was hoping to recover from their humiliating 3-0 loss to Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga on Saturday by defeating Lazio on Wednesday night in the Champions League.

However, Ciro Immobile’s penalty to seal the home team’s 1-0 victory left Thomas Tuchel’s team dumbfounded at the Stadio Olimpico.

Dayot Upamecano, a defender for Bayern, was also dismissed for a careless challenge that set up Immobile’s game-winning penalty.

OptaJoe disclosed that Bayern had broken an unpleasant record following the game.

They posted on social media, saying: “This is the most shots by any side in a UEFA Champions League fixture on record (from 2003–04) without one being on target. Bayern Munich had 17 shots against Lazio this evening, but none were on target.”

“We’re frustrated and angry about the defeat,” a disgruntled Tuchel stated in remarks made following the game. Although I’m not positive Lazio won, I believe we lost.

“We made mistakes and lost confidence, doing everything we could to lag behind. Upamecano didn’t need to enter in that manner.

“We started well, had a chance in the first minute, and then we had Harry Kane and Jamal Musiala,” he continued. In the first half, we controlled the game.

This Sunday afternoon, Bayern will return to Bundesliga action when they play VfL Bochum.

A recent story claims that Thomas Tuchel, the manager of Bayern Munich, has been offered to another Champions League team by his representatives.

Bayern is presently five points behind leaders Bayer Leverkusen at the top of the Bundesliga, despite the former Chelsea manager leading the team to the last 16 of the Champions League this season.

Bayern is now battling to capture the league title for the 12th time in a row after losing 3-0 to Xabi Alonso’s team, their third league loss of the year.

Tuchel is under increasing pressure as a result, as his team only won the title the previous season because Borussia Dortmund lost their match on the last day of the competition.

“We had all week to prepare,” Tuchel told reporters following the loss. Our goal was to defend high up the pitch, and we succeeded in doing so.

“I believe we were able to do that for a while, but we also made some really poor choices, particularly when we won the ball. Then we were unconfident.”

Additionally, the German coach has reportedly been considering possible new options in case he decides to quit Bayern, according to the Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo.

According to journalist Fernando Polo, Tuchel’s group has made an offer to work for Barcelona, who will be searching for a new manager once Xavi leaves.

After a poor season in which Barca sits 10 points behind Real Madrid in the La Liga standings, Xavi has already indicated that he will leave the team at the end of the current campaign.

However, he might cap up his career with a Champions League victory, since Bayern and Barcelona might play one other later in this season’s league.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Tuchel is thought to have a good chance of landing the position if he speaks with Barcelona because of his 2021 Champions League victory with Chelsea.
