West Ham boss David Moyes ‘prime forward target’ for summer transfer window.

The January transfer window has only just concluded and already West Ham are on the hunt for their summer targets. The Hammers brought in Kalvin Phillips has their only new arrival, bidding temporary farewells to the likes of Said Benrahma and Thilo Kehrer.

Supporters were split on the issue of the London Stadium’s lack of new talent, with many contending that it is to blame for their current slump, which has seen them win one and draw three of their last five games. Others, on the other hand, think that since David Moyes’ team is currently in a stronger financial situation, the small action will benefit them in the long run. The Hammers will receive £5.1 million from Benrahma’s move to Lyon and £428,000 in loan fees from Kehrer’s departure to Monaco. Naturally, the majority of their earnings will go toward paying Phillips’ £2.4 million loan cost and his £130,000 weekly salary, but there is still a lot of space for further possibilities.

In light of this, Moyes has already stated his goals for the summer and is in dire need of strengthening his front line. The Hammers have already contacted Genoa to sign their 26-year-old star, Albert Gudmundsson, according to Tutto Juve. Moyes made another attempt to bring the Icelandic international to London in January of this year, but he was unable to close a deal in time for the deadline of February 1st.

With 35 caps for his nation, Gudmundsson has been playing effectively for the Serie A team. In his 23 appearances thus far, he has scored eleven goals and provided three assists. The 26-year-old has incredible pace on the field and can play anywhere around the front line.

Calcio Mercato stated in January that Genoa will demand about £22 million for their Icelandic player, which does not seem unachievable for a team that had a very quiet winter transfer window.
