Everton suffer blow for Man City clash as Sean Dyche admits surprise

Sean Dyche will have to watch Everton’s match against Manchester City from the stands.

In the 2-2 draw between the Toffees and Tottenham Hotspur at Goodison Park on Saturday, the manager of the team received his third yellow card of the year. As Everton sought an equalizer, Dyche’s complaints that Beto was hauled down outside the area were judged excessive, and referee Michael Oliver penalized him.

Dyche will serve a one-match touchline punishment for receiving two bookings against Liverpool and Newcastle United. This means that on Saturday at the Etihad Stadium against Man City, he will not be able to issue commands from the technical area (12.30 GMT).

The Everton manager remarked, “I made a bad decision and got booked.” I’m not sure what that is discussing. Everyone in the stands and in the football world agrees that it was a bad move. But I’m scheduled for it.

“When they look at that, can they withdraw the yellow cards? When they slide on their knees, people say things like, “There’s a passionate manager running down the line.” Is it forbidden to be passionate about a poor choice you made? I become perplexed. Ultimately, it was a bad choice; I simply reacted, and I was booked for it.
