After the Nottingham Forest loan was confirmed, Christian Pulisic sent Gio Reyna an amazing “bro” message. Jude Bellingham and four other USMNT players also reacted to the hazardous transfer move.

Gio Reyna was surrounded by love as he unexpectedly started a new chapter in his career by going on loan to Nottingham Forest.

After losing favor at Borussia Dortmund, the 21-year-old was only able to play in 280 minutes of Bundesliga action this season before agreeing to a loan agreement with Nuno Espirito Santo’s team through the end of the season.

With a possible point deduction looming and them sitting only two points above the relegation zone, Forest will be looking to Reyna to light a fire under them and propel them to safety.

WHAT GIO REYNA SAID

Posting a picture of himself arriving at a deserted City Ground, Reyna posted: “So excited to be here! Can’t wait to get started! Let’s gooo.”

Quick to reply were Pulisic with a motivational “Let’s get it bro.”

Former Dortmund team-mate Bellingham chimed in with a simple: “Brother,” alongside a heart emoji.

Timothy Weah, Matt Miazga and Folarin Balogun all wished their USMNT team-mate good luck with the move.

Reyna’s switch is one of the more interesting decisions made in what has otherwise been a quiet winter transfer season. It remains to be seen if the American can find the consistency he so desperately needs at a team where aggressive recruitment has resulted in a large number of players coming and going in recent windows. Forest might have pulled off a major upset if Reyna can work well with Anthony Elanga and the gifted Morgan Gibbs-White. They are not required to sign the athlete permanently if that is not the case.
