‘Quite frustrated’… Manager admits £25m player is annoyed, amid rumours Leeds United could

There is just one week remaining in the transfer window for Leeds United to finalize any outstanding business.

The Whites haven’t signed anyone this month, but they’ve stated time and time again that they’re prepared to wait to sign their top targets. Now is the moment to test whether that tactic is effective.

During the next seven days, there are a few places that need to be strengthened, including central defense. It also appears that a creative attacker and at least one full-back are on the roster.

Ben Godfrey of Everton is one center back that has been connected to Leeds in recent days; the 49ers are allegedly in negotiations for an initial loan agreement that includes an obligation to buy in the summer.

And now manager Sean Dyche has addressed the rumors that Godfrey is leaving the team during his pre-game press conference before of Everton’s FA Cup match against Luton Town.

Dyche responds to rumors that Godfrey, a target for Leeds,
“Ben’s going along very well; his professionalism is outstanding,” he remarked. Though he hasn’t had as much playing time, he is well-liked in the group and is clearly pretty irritated about it.

“But he’s just frustrated that he can’t play, not that he’s upset with me or anything.” He keeps pushing the group and himself since he is an amazing pro.

Burnley FC v Everton FC - Premier League

This season, Godfrey has only made two appearances in the Premier League, and that one came from the start in December. Other than that, he’s only gotten to make one one-minute cameo.

Leeds will have fierce competition for Godfrey from all around Europe, but they will have hope since Everton is rumored to be receptive to offers—even if they are permanent.

Due to Godfrey’s prior experience working under Daniel Farke at Norwich City, who transferred him to Everton for almost £25 million, Leeds may perhaps have a little advantage in the contest.

If Leeds want to succeed, Godfrey would be a fantastic addition, and Dyche’s remarks today shouldn’t stop them from trying to sign him.
