Kasey Palmer: Man arrested over alleged racist gesture

A man has been detained on suspicion of inciting racial animosity towards a Coventry City player during a Sheffield Wednesday game.

Kasey Palmer, a midfielder for the opposing team, said during Saturday’s game at Hillsborough that he was singled out.

The individual was taken into custody on suspicion of committing a racially offensive public order offense, according to South Yorkshire Police, and later released on bond.

The force announced that it was looking into the matter in cooperation with both teams.
