‘Will stay’: Agent rules out Palace or Nottingham Forest move for £7m striker

After Fulham withdrew their name from consideration earlier this week, the representative of Krasnodar striker Jhon Cordoba has ruled out a January transfer to either Crystal Palace or Nottingham Forest, two Premier League teams.

The well-traveled Jhon Cordoba scored 21 goals in the previous season and 11 more this one, putting together the finest football of his career since arriving in Russia. So much so that Cordoba’s name is making the rounds among teams hovering around the mid-to-lower regions of the division, as several Premier League clubs try to add attacking reinforcements during the winter window.

A Nottingham Forest team that recently lost Taiwo Awoniyi to a long-term injury is reportedly interested, according to The Standard. Alongside the brutal, 6ft 2in Colombian international, Crystal Palace has also been discussed. Under Roy Hodgson, the team averaged little over a goal per game.

However, Cordoba’s counsel has made it clear what the player’s immediate future holds, even in light of reports indicating that Krasnodar may explore a loan-to-buy deal in the £7 million range. The player was formerly a hitman for La Liga and the Bundesliga.

Premier League move ruled out for Russia-based striker

Christian Wine informs RB Sport that “Jhon will stay at Krasnodar until the end of the season.”

Wine made his remarks one day after Fulham withdrew from the conversation. Scout Brian Talbot of Craven Cottage appeared to deny rumors that connected Cordoba to a move to West London.

Talbot corrects Match TV, saying, “The information that we want to loan Cordoba with an option-to-buy in the winter transfer window is not correct.”

Fulham rule themselves out of the race

Since neither Jean-Philippe Mateta nor Odsonne Edouard wasted the ammo that Michael Olise and Ebere Eze offered, HITC Football has learned that Crystal Palace is interested in Chelsea striker Armando Broja as well as AZ Alkmaar’s prolific Vangelis Pavlidis.

According to information provided to HITC, Nottingham Forest is getting closer to acquiring Gio Reyna, a playmaker for Borussia Dortmund.
