Rangers’ January transfer tease is revealed by Philippe Clement.

Philippe Clement hinted Rangers are not finished with their transfer business this month.

The manager of Ibrox disclosed that he hopes to sign “a few transfers” before to the window closing at the end of January.

After winning the Viaplay Cup, Clement was questioned about his players’ desire to win the Scottish Cup. He responded, “The appetite was there before already because otherwise you don’t win the league cup.” The Rangers had won the cup eleven or twelve years prior, and the hunger was still present.

“Every game matters, and I’m looking for players that are highly driven. They know that if they exhibit ambition, they will be given opportunities.

“I see a squad that is pushing every day to be in the starting 11 and we need to continue in that way with a few transfers the next couple of days or the next few weeks and then we want to challenge everybody.”

But when asked if the transfer market may pick up following the 4-1 victory over Dumbarton, Clement remained evasive, saying, “We will see, we are working hard on that.”

Reiterating that he doesn’t give opportunities to players arbitrarily, Clement stated that he wants to reward those who are competing for a spot in the starting lineup.

Prior to kickoff, Clement had declared that Robby McCrorie would start instead of Jack Butland as a reward for his training achievements.

Following a pivotal stop by McCrorie in the first half, Clement stated: “We give him confidence because he has shown good things in training, and that is why he is there.”

“People who push for it get chances; I don’t give chances to give chances.” It was crucial that he could have this experience for that reason.
