Bruno Guimarães shares ‘love’ for Liverpool legend amid transfer links and $127m clause

Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimarães has been linked with a move to Liverpool in recent months and has now shared his admiration for a Reds legend.

Amidst speculations of a move to the Reds, Bruno Guimarães of Newcastle United has declared his “love” for a legendary player from Liverpool. Since switching from Lyon in January 2022, the Brazilian star has been a vital member of Newcastle’s team.

October saw him ink a new five-year contract with Newcastle, which he did to stave off interest from other teams, particularly Liverpool, as well as a reward for his previous performances. Both Chelsea and Liverpool had apparently made ‘inquiries’ about him prior to him signing a new contract.

Liverpool has demonstrated that it is willing to make record-breaking offers, as evidenced by its pursuit of Moisés Caicedo last summer, even though he has a huge $127 million (£100 million/€116 million) release clause in his contract (via The Telegraph). The midfielder has publicly expressed his respect for Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard, even though it seems improbable that it would pay such a hefty price for Guimarães.
