Man City defender Ruben Dias sends ominous Premier League title race warning to Liverpool FC and Arsenal

According to Ruben Dias, Manchester City is “feeling themselves again” in terms of regaining the mindset necessary to safeguard their three titles.

Ruben Dias thinks Manchester City are ready to get back on track in the Premier League title race

As Manchester City nears the season’s business end, Ruben Dias has observed a change in mindset inside the team.

After a strong start to the season, City’s lack of consistency in the fall saw them fall six points behind leaders Arsenal heading into the Club World Cup in Saudi Arabia. Liverpool and Arsenal drew to guarantee that City weren’t as far behind as they could have been, since Arsenal lost two straight games over the Christmas break, allowing Liverpool to take the lead.

Liverpool has played one more game than City and is now five points ahead, giving the Blues a chance to reclaim the title. In addition, City will get Jeremy Doku, John Stones, Erling Haaland, Kevin De Bruyne, and others back for work on the training field during January.

One of City’s five captains, Dias, claims the team had to start over following their triple crown triumph the previous year and are now ‘back on track’ ahead of a crucial run that begins in February when the schedule becomes busy again.

Dias stated: “I think generally we are starting to feel ourselves again” on the official podcast of City. We had to take a sober look at the little things that had previously allowed us to accomplish what we had done after what we had done in the previous season.

We are gradually getting back on course. Just as you start to unwind, a drop-off appears out of nowhere. There are still a lot of flights to be scheduled and tasks to do.

Despite some unsatisfactory results in the first half of the season, Dias believes that City has done well to position itself in the Premier League and Champions League heading into February. Advancement in the FA Cup is the team’s third goal for January. Dias believes that the pressure to surpass Arsenal and Liverpool and advance in Europe will bring out the best in the defending world champions.

“The real things start in February.” It goes without saying that you have to have positioned yourself to experience that pressure,” he remarked. But ultimately, that’s when the important choices begin to be made. The major games approach quickly if you enter February in a strong position both in the league and across all competitions.

“I enjoy the sense of pressure that comes with playing.” You will occasionally be under pressure and in difficult situations if you are going to win something. It makes no difference at all how successful you have been in the past since those emotions will remain the same.

“If those emotions have shifted, you’re not as prepared to succeed as you  should be. As much as you can, you should want the pressure because it means you are in the right place.”
