Medical Booked: Nottingham Forest closing in on signing West Ham star -view
|Nottingham Forest have agreed to sign West Ham midfielder James Ward-Prowse. A straight loan deal for the 29-year-old set-piece specialist is now expected to go through before the 11 pm August 30th cut-off.
Ward-Prowse is scheduled to undergo a Forest medical later on Friday.
West Ham are set to sign Spanish midfielder Carlos Soler from
French giant PSG on loan with an option to buy and have deemed Ward-Prowse surplus to requirements.
The midfielder has slipped down the pecking order since new boss Julen Lopetegui was hired and talks with Forest are reaching a climax.
James Ward-Prowse to swap West Ham for Nottingham Forest
England international Ward-Prowse notched seven goals and 11 assists in 51 appearances across all competitions last term in his first season at West Ham.
He has a contract until 2027, however, the midfielder has managed just 16 minutes in the opening two games this season.
Consistent Premier League minutes are looking unlikely for Ward-Prowse under Lopetegui, especially since West Ham have already signed World Cup winner Guido RodrĂguez from Real Betis.
One player who could be set to join Ward-Prowse at Forest is Ajax forward Brian Brobbey.
