Blow for Nottingham Forest as player confirms decision to stay – ‘Not convinced’ to join Reds

Nottingham Forest have suffered a massive blow in their pursuit of Eintracht Frankfurt star Omar Marmoush.

The Reds have shown keen interest in the striker, who has a dream of making a switch to the Premier League.

Earlier today, Bild reported Nottingham Forest are ‘suddenly closer than ever’ to secure the 25-year-old’s services. It was also said the negotiations are underway between the two clubs.

The operation has been brought to an end after the player himself announced he’ll be staying. He confirmed this through a video released by Eintracht Frankfurt through their official social channels, relayed by Fussball Transfers.

“I’m really looking forward to this season. The love that I have felt in the last few days has touched me very much. I’m very happy to be here. See you tomorrow,” he said.

A fresh report from Bild now claims Nottingham Forest ‘got serious’ about the Egypt international on Thursday.

It’s claimed Nuno Espírito Santo’s side have shown willingness to table a €30m bid, which is the fee requested by Eintracht Frankfurt sporting director Markus Krösche. The German club were also ready to let the player fulfil his dream of playing in the Premier League.

However, Bild claim that despite earlier claims he’d jump at the chance, Marmoush was ‘not convinced by’ Nottingham Forest, who avoided relegation in the last two seasons. Therefore, he snubbed them to continue at Eintracht Frankfurt.
