Crystal Palace have agreed on a package worth £30 million with Arsenal to sign their academy graduate Eddie Nketiah.

Crystal Palace. The Eagles will fork out £25 million as a fixed fee along with another £5 million as add-ons to secure the services of the Hale End graduate.

Nketiah has been a part of the North London club’s first team since the start of 2019. While he did showcase great promise in the initial phase of his career, the 25-year-old has only had limited opportunities in recent seasons.

During the 2023/24 season, he was involved in 37 matches but was on the pitch for less than 1,400 minutes. While he still has three years left on his deal, the English international is keen on a move away in search of regular first-team action.

Nketiah keeps chipping in with impressive performances but is unlikely to help him secure more minutes under Arteta. As a result, he has been looking for a new destination. The Hale End graduate has been very close to a move to Nottingham Forest and French giants Marseille at different stages of the ongoing transfer window but those moves have collapsed because of different reasons.

Crystal Palace made a late entry in the race for his services and they seem to have won it. They approached the Gunners regarding a potential transfer and have been in talks with them for a while now. Finally, they have managed to strike a deal with the Eagles.

They are ready to pay up to £30 million to bring him to Selhurst Park with £25 million as fixed and the remaining as add-ons. The player was keen on a move to Palace and he had already accepted to join them two days back.

They already had Nketiah’s green light and with both clubs reaching a common ground, the former Chelsea academy star is now set to complete his medical as a new Palace player. Arsenal will be pleased as they have finally managed to get him off their books permanently.
