Ahead of Friday night’s Championship match, The72’s writers anticipate the outcome between Cardiff City and Leicester City.
Cardiff City, who had a great start under Erol Bulut, has had a difficult few weeks. Even though they are now two points outside of the top six in 11th place, they have lost ground in the play-off race.

The Bluebirds and managerless Plymouth Argyle drew 2-2 on Boxing Day in South Wales.

In the meantime, Leicester City continues to lead the standings. Despite earlier this week’s drew with promotion rivals Ipswich Town due to a late deflected strike by Sam Morsy, they will be keen to secure a victory.

This season, the Foxes have scored more goals than any other Championship team, and their 17 goals allowed are also the fewest of any 24 teams.

“A draw against your closest title rivals isn’t necessarily a bad result, especially given Ipswich controlled much of the game. However, Leicester will be disappointed to have only taken a point from Portman Road given the circumstances.

“They must put that behind them, though, and I think they’ll move on fast after a straightforward victory in this one.

Although Cardiff is stalling a little in the transfer window, they are still in a respectable position. Though Leicester is the clear favorite to win all three points, they could fall short in this one.

Leicester won’t have an easy encounter, especially as Cardiff is still in danger of missing the playoffs. In the end, though, I think the visitors will have too much quality for their rivals.
