Bayern Munich not expecting last-minute Real Madrid offer for €50m-rated speedster

The future of Alphonso Davies has been a constant topic in Spanish media, as Real Madrid have viewed the Bayern Munich speedster as a serious target in recent months.

With one year left on his contract with the Bavarians, Los Blancos hoped to negotiate a bargain transfer fee and secure his services this season.

However, Bayern Munich’s reluctance to sanction the Canadian left-back’s departure for anything below €50 million has deterred Real Madrid, who prefer to wait a year and sign the player for free despite the Germans’ recent concessions.

The Latest Update

The Davies saga has seen endless twists and turns, but Florian Plettenberg now provides a comprehensive update on his situation ahead of the new season.

According to the German journalist, Bayern Munich do not expect Real Madrid to make any effort to sign the defender in August and are confident that he will remain at the club in the upcoming new season.

After all, Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has already announced that his squad is complete.

The Bavarians, therefore, are set to continue with Davies for the coming year at least and will even improve their renewal proposal if his performances under Vincent Kompany improve. A renewal is still on the cards.

A natural consequence of this decision, however, is that Davies could become a free agent in less than a year and sign with any club of his choice.

Should a renewal not materialize in the coming months, Davies is likely to leave as a free agent, with Real Madrid being the top favourite.

As of now, Bayern Munich are unaware of any pre-agreement between Los Blancos and the player and are willing to risk it all for his renewal.
