JUST IN: Rangers vs Ross County OFF as Staggies succumb to travel hell and can’t reach Ibrox

The Staggies will not be able to travel to Glasgow in time, hence Rangers vs. Ross County is CANCELLED.

Today, at midday, Derek Adams’ group left for Govan, despite the weather forecast indicating that travel would be extremely difficult due to Storm Gerrit’s impact on Scotland. In other parts of the country, traffic has been challenging due to heavy rains and snowfall, blocking the A9. Rangers announced that the Premiership match had been postponed just over an hour after the visitors started their journey.

They declared the Ibrox pitch playable. At the very least, there would have been a significant delay before kickoff without which the Highlanders would not have arrived at the stadium in time. “Rangers can confirm that this evening’s Scottish Premiership matchup with Ross County has been postponed,” stated a statement. Rangers can no longer top the table if they defeat Celtic on Saturday due to the postponement. Philippe Clement’s team knew that victory at Parkhead would have put them on top, thus a win against County would have closed the deficit to two points.
